Free Meals at Taylor

Free! Free! Free!!!!

Breakfast and lunch at Taylor Community Schools will be free for the next four years.
You heard that right.
Our students will eat for free at Taylor schools thanks to the great work of food service director Paula Bolin.
Free meals include a complete breakfast and lunch provided by our cafeteria staff.
**The snack line and ala carte line are not included.

Parents will also be charged nothing for books, chromebooks, Ipads, etc. due to new legislation by the state.
Additionally, we will not be adding any additional fees to compensate for the losses.
** the only fees your child may incur would be limited to items such as art supplies in which your child would be able to keep.

Titan Virtual Academy

Titan Virtual Academy

Beginning in the fall of 2023, Taylor Community Schools will be opening the Titan Virtual
Academy. We are excited to offer a virtual school option for students preferring an online
delivery system for learning. As a member of the virtual academy, all students join Taylor Titan
Community, meaning that they may participate in all activities, sports, etc as any other student
who attends Taylor in person. Taylor accepts both in district and out of district students.

According to Taylor High School principal Steve Dishon, “There are students who prefer to be
homeschooled, but would like the opportunity to participate in activities offered by the school.
This program gives them the best of both worlds- quality education at home with a licensed
teacher and character-based activities at school through sports, music and the arts.”

The Titan Virtual Academy follows all state standards and follows a path to graduation. The
academy will be powered by Indiana Online. All core courses are taught synchronously with a
teacher, while electives are asynchronous and can be completed at the students’ discretion.
Taylor will provide a Chromebook to students, with an applicable yearly rental fee. The courses
will cost the students $15 per class. With all payments included, the virtual option is aligned with
the cost of an in-person student. The Titan Virtual Academy is available for students in grades
5-12.

To register for the fall, register at www.taylor.k12.in.us. Be sure to click the virtual option for the
Titan Virtual Academy. The guidance office will then contact you to answer any questions and
get your child enrolled for the fall.
